Major Update: 19 June

Patch Notes Summary

Gangster Arena is an experiment in cryptonomic gameplay. We always aim to adapt to player behaviour and feedback as our mission to make the game of crypto more fun and rewarding.

This patch aims to address two main problems:

  • Small prize pool leading to insufficient incentive to invest $GREED into reputation

  • Players creating mass accounts to abuse gang war mechanics

We have decided to make three high level changes in this patch:

  1. Adding significant rewards in the form of $U, which will be the Uncharted ecosystem token

  2. Disincentivising multi-accounting and transferring of gangsters via incentives & X verification

  3. Minor balance changes to disincentivise multi-accounting & make the game more idle

Introducing Uncharted & $U

Uncharted is building crypto's gamification layer, backed by Shima and Spartan. Our mission is to make the game of crypto more fun and rewarding. Gangster Arena is the first title from Uncharted Studio, and the long-term vision is to have a large suite of games, 3rd party publishing & more.

$U will be the universal token that powers the Uncharted ecosystem. Players will now be able to exclusively earn xU in Gangster Arena 2, which can be converted 1:1 after TGE later this year.

Uncharted Foundation has committed 1% of $U as ranking and U point rewards in Gangster Arena

Patch Notes

  1. Rewards Increase

In order to incentivise more players to compete we are introducing 3 leaderboard changes:

  • Top 100 players will earn a share of 0.5% xU based on their ranking.

  • All players will earn a share of 0.5% xU based on U points.

  • Reputation leaderboard removed and ETH rewards will go to rank rewards

Breakdown of xU for top 100 ranked players (by reputation)

How players can earn U points

  • Gain reputation (Each reputation gives 4 U points per day, calculated per second).

  • Hold $GREED (Each $GREED gives 0.02 U points per day, calculated per second).

Note any U points earned outside of Gangster Arena 2 do not count towards the score.

  1. Gang Wars

A few changes have been made to gang wars to make it easier to find targets and disincentivise transferring gangsters to accounts. I

  • Players must be connected to X to receive rewards from gang wars

  • Gangsters can no longer receive gang war earnings for 12 hours after staking

  • $GREED rewards from gang wars will automatically be added to the players "claim"-able balance over 10 hours rather than distributed all at once (10% per hour).

  • Players can now sort gang war targets by last defence and last earning.

  1. Balance Changes

Biggest change here is reducing the disadvantage of having 1 big account by making removing the safehouse levelling cost.

  • Cost to upgrade safehouse level set to 0.

  • Any player who spent XGREED to upgrade their safehouse level has been refunded.

  • Claim cooldown has increased from 3 to 10 hours.

  • Time increase for buying gangsters reduced from 60 to 30 seconds.
